That’s a great app ! I love it

Great app that I use since few days. Notifications, downloads of documents, multiple accounts, everything is perfect !

Need to be updated

It’s a really great app ! I love it ! Just few things need to be fixed : - Notification with total count doesn’t work at all (menubar, switch account, etc) - Google Drive doesn’t work well when it’s open, maybe you should add an option to open it in a new windows/tab of the web browser. - Sometimes new email doesn’t appear on my mailbox. I will add 5 stars when all these features will be fixed !

Fantastic!!

This app works perfectlly and allowed me to move away from Apple Mail (which does NOT work with Gmail, specially on large scale/multiple folders). It is also much better than using a browser and is integrated with Mac features. There is a bug on viewing annexed files on Retina display, but I’m sure they will fix soon. Reducing the size of the app or downloading the file are good workarounds while they work to fix the problem. It is the best money I’ve invested on App Store. Besides the strange name and logo (which does not provide too much confidence), don’t think twice and buy it! Its worth!

The best interface for Gmail

Turns out that the best way to experience Gmail… is to just let Gmail do it’s thing! Kiwi takes the convenience of Gmail and brings it to a stand-alone app, which is great for us who don’t want to rely on the bloated, annoying experience that is Chrome on OSX. Notifications are integrated into the Notification Centre and anything you can do on the web, you can do on the app. If you are a Gmail user, you really can’t get better than Kiwi.

What I’ve Been Waiting For

This app is so convincing in what it does that I’ve noticed many people don’t believe it’s not an iframe of the site. Obviously pulling gmail out of the browser was my main goal, but where this app truly excels in my eyes is how it can handle multiple accounts. Having to sign in and out in the browser is a massive annoyance, but this app makes it a single click experience. Also, having the “undo send” feature available is something I have never seen in a desktop mail client, and I’ve never been able to figure out why such a useful tool wasn’t stolen by other developers. Regardless, it’s here and it’s amazing for those oh-god-I-misspelled-his-name moments after you hit “send”.

Works great!

This is a great email client for Gmail! I manage three different email addresses with it, and it integrates well with my CRM tool on my desktop as well. Highly recommend!

Buggy, Memory Hog, Unreliable

I so wanted to like Kiwi. It is so buggy. New emails will be notified but you have to click on inbox to refresh. Sometimes when you search it only shows one character. Work arounds yes… but not for a paid app. It wont handle popups from Google Drive. Not business ready.

After trying every Mac email client out there, Kiwi is my choice

Im a heavy Gmail user, both for my personal and work email. I literally get 1000s of emails in my work account every day (alerts, support email, etc.) so most IMAP-based clients are not able to keep up with it. I have tried pretty much every mail client out there, from Mail (rubbish!), to Outlook (horror!), to AirMail (acceptable), to having Gmail open in Chrome. While it not the most beautiful or elegant app out there, Kiwi does the job better than all. Kiwi lets you keep the "native" Gmail interface, which does all the heavy lifting on Google servers, while integrating with system notifications and having a menubar icon.

This app rocks for Gmail

My favorite feature about this client is that its Gmail. I dont have to learn yet another abstraction on top of my email. Apart from the lack of plug-ins, I cant tell that Im using an app. It feels just like Gmail in the browser, but more responsive. There is one thing, however, that Im sorely missing from the browser experience: The ability to use Cmd-F to search for text in the current page. I hope this comes to Kiwi soon.

I’m not convinced still beta

After a good 2 weeks of using it. you realised it’s just a dumbed down version of Gmail that you can use for free in your browser… i was expecting a better experience Hangouts. Google Drive doesn’t work… With Chrome there are so many amazing adons that you miss out on with Kiwi; though their site says these integration should be on their way. It’s very beta, hopefully features will come soon. For the time being, just use your browser.

Best Gmail experience on a desktop

Takes all the irks away of using Gmail in a browser. I’ve tried so many apps for this purpose before but they’re all so clunky!

Great Little App

This is a great little app. Its basically its own web browser with multiple tabs for gmail. It stays open independently of all of your other web browsers and has great little tools built into it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who uses multiple gmail addresses.

Grey Screen...

The app is great, but you think by now you would have fixed the problem of a the grey screen. loggin out and back in to see my other email & you say your working on a fix…but the fix nver comes.

Grey screen makes it nearly unusable

Been using the app since the first version, still a loyal customer, but the fact that I need to re-launch the app dozens (literally, dozens!) of times per day makes it nearly unusable. Whenever they fix the issue it’ll be 5 stars.

DON’T BUY! ASK & WAIT FOR FIX!

As other people say, it’s a very great app EXCEPT that it has MAJOR BUG. Bug 1 : Gray screen. You hide / minimize the app, whatever, go come back, the green is gray. You can’t reload, you can’t do anything. You have to re-launch. Happens several times a day. Bug 2 : Can’t swtich between account. The icon in the dock has the label “3” unread for example, and the labels at the top right where I can switch the active account (tab-like) show no unread message. So I try to click on them, nothing happens. Have to relaunch. Happen several times a day. Bug 3 : 33% chances that the app will crash when you click on a click. It’s simply better to use a browser. For the price this developper is asking for this app, it enters in my description of scam. Other Google apps integration are lacking. It opens Google-service-related-link in new “in-app” small window, very bad integration. I recommend you “Checker Plus for Gmail” extension for Google Chrome. Donate a small amount to the dev and you’ll have all the features unlocked. This is way way way way better.

Doesn’t work with multiple accounts

Bugs, bugs and more bugs. It doesn’t work with multiple accounts, it displays empty screens. It was reported months ago and they still haven’t got around to fixing it. Slow, no existent support response times.

Good basic app

I have been using the app for a little over 2 months now and the main thing I like about it is the ability to manage up to 6 gmail accounts from a single dashboard. I also like the notification system. I’m use both an iMac and a Macbook Air and it generates a mail icon that sits next to the volume, wifi and bluetooth icons. You can see how many new emails you’ve got. I also like the pop-up notifications. Again, that can be switched off, but it’s a great way to see new emails coming in. What Kiwi lacks however is integration with other core google apps, particularly google calendar. I think the publicity image up top on this page is a bit misleading since it shows an ical icon and suggests calendar integration. That is not the case. I would love to be able to manage my google calendar side by side with gmail since the 2 run hand in hand in many people’s work flows. Otherwise, so far so good. It works straight out of the box and the walk-through instructions are brief and easy to follow. I would recommend the app. I’ve given it 4 stars because there is room for additional features, parrticularly integration with Google calendar.

Very useful, jumping from tab to tab in a browser has ended.

I recommend this app. I use 5 gmail accounts for work and for myself. This app really helps. I am waiting for sidekick and hubspot integrations.

Great, but..

Kiwi is great, multi-accounts, calendar, google drive and other google apps also work very well, but when using wide gamut monitor with Adobe RGB profile, the colors are strongly exaggerated, Safari (El Capitan) works in this case better, because it displays the content in the sRGB (internet standard) even if you use AdobeRGB profile. So, work at it, and it will be really the best program to gmail!

Good but not perfect

This may not be the sleekiest looking app on the web, but it does its job. You can have up to 6 GMail accounts. I’m currently using 4 and at times the app tends to freeze the first one so that you can only see the grey screen of Gmail loading. Reloading the app helps, but I find this particularly annoying when I’m in the middle of something and I have to stop, save, reload and continue work. Otherwise, if you like the Gmail web interface and are happy to use Gmail in a separate app, this one is for you.
