Good app

I have been using this app for several months now. Before that I was using Apple Mail which worked fine. However, I find that this app works much better when dealing with my multiple accounts. It does get a little glitchy once in awhile, but then don’t most apps? Once in awhile I just need to close it back down and open again and it is fine. I would recommend this to anyone who has multiple accounts and wants a better alternative to Apple Mail.

Almost Perfect

Kiwi is almost everything I’m looking for. My one annoyance is the fact that you constently get notified about emails in your Promotions inbox. I like gmail because it keeps those annoying (but sometimes helpful) emails out of my inbox so I can check on them when I want. The gmail app for iOS doesnt notify me so there should be a way to select what emails you want to be notified about. If i could turn off notifications for promotional inbox i would have given 5 starts.

Great App

I love having this app so both of my gmail accounts can be open at the same time. It is very organized, easy to use, and great! I don’t know how I was surviving before having Kiwi.

Good, almost great

I really like this App - it is great to have Gmail in a window of its own, handling multiple accounts - I like to keep it in one Desktop and my browser in another so I can switch back and forth. It works very well (most of the time) and integrates with the other Google apps well. I do have a few quibbles: • Sometimes, it does misbehave, particularly if it has been open for a while (like a week…). Popup windows, such as the calendar, can appear as outlines only with transparent content. When this happens, I quit and relaunch, and I’m good again in a matter of seconds. • If I accidentally close the main email browsing window, I haven’t found a good way to get it back again. So… quit & relaunch. A little annoying… but not enough for me to stop using it or go searching for something else. I figure it will be worked out soon. Otherwise, it is an excellent productivitiy tool, one which I hope will continue to work as well as it does!

Excellent idea…... but buggy

This is exactly what I was looking for! Needs some minor improvement in the bug department. Here’s what it doesn’t do well in the current version: 1. Does not update the status bar with the correct number of unread emails. 2. Locks up frequently when clicking on external links. Will update to 5 stars when these two issues are resolved.

This App Is outstanding!

This was the best email application used so far on the MAC. My favorite is the drag/drop of attachments. This makes it so easy to find attachments and move them to my email. Well done Kiwi!

decieved by the memory usage in the free version

I had hoped this would be less of a memory hog for gmail than safari is. Safari uses about 650mb ram for 2 gmail acounts open in 2 tabs. The free version of this app used about 200 mb for the heavier account, and I thought that would translate well to 2 accounts. Not so. Kiwi is using about 700MB of ram for my 2 accounts, slightly worse than safari. Bottom line, don’t get this if you’re looking for a lighter gmail client.

I hate all Mac email Apps

I have had too many issues with Mail (because it would send email from the wrong address) and I was fed up with the UI of Thunderbird. I run a business and have a personal Gmail Account. The business email is connected with Gmail. It was a no-brainer to invest my money into Kiwi. It is a great email application because it has all the functions (including Drive) to assist you with everyday tasks. I am pretty sure this doesn’t support other email servers. If that is the situation, I would highly recommend you get a gmail address and then download Kiwi. You are going to change your life forever. I used to have a Yahoo account and it took me until the year 2011 to switch. Also, it sounds like the developers are a small staff. This app isn’t perfect…yet; but I am sure it will be. Thanks again for this app, Zive!

Love this app!

I was an early backer for this software beceause I recognized it was a huge need for me… and hopefuly others. I love what they did with it! I gave it four stars, but only because there is still room to improve. I will quickly fire up this app instead of logging in via the browser 99 times out of 100. It makes managing multiple gmail accounts so incredibly easy.

Much slower than Mac mail app

I keep the Mac mail app as well as Kiwi and find I get email on the Mac app and have to wait for them to show up on Kiwi. In addition, every now and then it freezes. This app has problems which should be solved.

A Tool I Use All Day Every Day

If you use gmail frequently and have multiple accounts as I do, you’ll love this app! Not only is the layout nice but having the ability to monitor all my accounts accurately and easily is priceless! I am so glad I saw the ad for this app and tried it out. It has streamlined my podcasting business.

What Am I missing???

I have been using this for a few days and I don’t see the charm. Yes, this handles multiple Gmail accounts better than a web browser. That is helpful, but not $9.99 worth of help. The rest of this is merely a standalone version of the web front end to Gmail. Having Gmail open in a seperate window… ah, we have had that ability in all major web browsers for quite some time… If you live in multiple Gmail accounts (especially more than 2), AND you only use a web browser for Gmail, I guess this is worth it for you. I was hoping for an app with its own elegance to improve upon the clunky Gmail interface and turn it into a real mail client, not just regurgitate Gmail in a slightly improved candy shell. From their marketing, "Radically different from Mail, Outlook, and every other email client We dont dilute the Gmail experience. Tailored specifically to bring the full power and richness of Gmail to life, rather than watering it down to fit in one-size-fits-all email clients.” Radically different? No - it is the Gmail interface Dilute the Gmail experience? I guess not, which translates to, “We didn’t add anything of our own that was noteworthy to the UX besides better handling of multiple accounts.” One-size-fits-all email clients? You mean, real email clients and not a web browser? Besides, what do you think the Gmail interface does? To sum it up: Fail

Cleared up my desktop

I used to keep each of my gmail accounts in separate browser, so I wouldn’t clutter the one I was using. This eliminated that totaly. Love it.

I have 5 Gmail accounts…and this finally makes it easy

I’ve always used desktop clients like Apple Mail to manage my multiple email accounts, but after a while dealing with IMAP syncing gets to be slow. You lose out on a lot of the perks of the gmail interface and your hard drive just keeps on shrinking. I’ve always stuck to the desktop clients because every app that I’ve tried over the years has been clunky or didn’t handle multiple accounts well. Kiwi gets it right. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and it is everything promised and more. Extremely happy with this system! Great work!

Uninstalling

I will now be looking for a new email client and uninstalling Kiwi. It’s so incredibly buggy and Zive hasn’t pushed an update in over 3 months, so I have no faith that it’ll ever be fixed. This app has a *ton* of potential but, unfortunately, where it excels in concept, it falls flat on it’s face in execution.

Loving the speed and account-switching!

The clean interface combined with the zippier performance over the browser-based version I had been using sold me on Kiwi for Gmail. I can’t recommend it enough for users balancing several gmail accounts and looking for an app with the ability to navigate through accounts quickly and efficiently. Buy it!

Extremely buggy

Conceptually, I like this application. But practically, its bugginess and lack of updates makes it frustrating to use. The app frequently freezes, requiring a quit/restart. I’m using multiple accounts, and several times a day when I switch from one account to another the app goes blank. I have discovered a workaround to enter/leave full-screen mode, which restores the view, but seriously that’s annoying. Beyond that, Kiwi seems to offer nothing much aside from placing a Gmail browser window inside of an app frame. For $9.99, I was expecting something that would improve upon the Gmail experience. Hoping for some updates and feature adds soon that will make me not regret buying this.

Unstable and very buggy

I’ve been using this app with 6 gmail accounts for the past month every single day and I am starting to think that I bought a beta and unfinished piece of software. The most annoying thing is that many of my accounts lose connectivity and get a grey/blank page, forcing me to quit and relaunch the app CONSTANTLY. It’s never the same accounts that lose connectivity and get blank so there is one major problem there. The second most annoying issues are, notifications that are not showing up randomly, late display of email numbers or sometimes wrong number of emails, sound notifications that is also not working randomly, non synchronization with gmail in regards to “read emails” meaning I have to click on the emails I have already deleted in my smartphone. I am still waiting for the update that we’ve been promised but my gut feeling is telling me that this app has not been thought out at all and seems badly written. This app so far does not deserve 4+ stars at all and will lose my vote if the new update that has still not been unveiled is not up to par. Very disappointed to have fallen for the hype.

awesome

I always found myself complaining about Gmail in one way or another… still the best email service out there but some annoying elements to it. I keep my Outlook separate for my two work emails so I need a little separation in programs. Then I saw an ad for Kiwi and decided to give it a go… $10 for something I use everyday that could possibly make it more efficient?? —> YES, it’s worth a try. After getting it set up, I immediately saw how much easier it was to go through my Gmail. I’ve had it for two weeks and have learned to use more features in 2 weeks than I had in the previous 5 years… no joke. It’s better than depending on a web-browser for your Gmail, trust me. I learned quickly that most of my frustrations previously had more to do with Gmail via Safari & Chrome than the program itself. Like I said, it’s worth giving it a try for $10 even if it’s just to find out if life will be easier using your Gmail.
