Updated Review!!!

Update (8.2.2016): I have some concerns every time there’s an update. Working smooth as usual. No big updates yet, but I hope to see more third party updates!

Update (7.18.16): AFTER this update, the few glitches I’ve noticed with the app seem to be GONE! I’m very pleased with this update. I’m hoping that they will continue to add new features. Of note, one of the major updates is zipping entire folders for emails. At first I thought I can drag and drop a folder, but their directions specify that you "right click" on the folder and select “Share” from Kiwi for Gmail. It really works and it is quite useful for me as a grad student as I need to share an entire folder of articles with other students without using Dropbox or Google Drive.

Update (1.8.16): These guys really CARE about the user experience. The most recent major updates also includes the following: (1) Increase text size by a shortcut (keeping with the OS X UI paradigm): Command (+) or (-) (2) New event on calendars have a shortcut: Control + Option + Command + E (for Event) just like the shortcut for a new message window (M instead of E). I’m looking forward to what this means for future updates!

For someone who has three gmail accounts (one for school, one for personal and one for professsional), this application provides what I have been waiting for.

No more being kicked out of one of the email accounts repeatedly. No more multiple sign-ins in one day. My favorite feature is the “Do not disturb” switch. For a grad student who needs to shut down distractions while being connected to email is very helpful - the unread count disappears, and you have no more distractions of new emails coming in.

My second favorite feature is the new message window that I can access without looking at my mailbox; let’s be honest, sometimes you don’t want to see your inboxes - you can go to the menu bar icon and click to get a new message box from any of your gmail accounts without seeing your inboxes. Lastly, I love how I can access my calendar from any of my accounts in separate windows at the same time - and works better than in the browser. I used to use different browsers to be able to see my school and personal calendar at once. Now I no longer need to do that. Awesome!!!
